I'm a software engineer based in West Africa, currently embracing a nomadic lifestyle while building software and exploring new interests.
What I'm Working On
Recently, I've been focused on writing, researching, and shipping software, with a particular interest in Rust and TypeScript.
I developed an open-source Rust SDK for the cNGN stablecoin (pegged 1:1 to the Nigerian Naira), providing a typed Rust client for the cNGN API with AES‑256‑CBC request encryption and Ed25519-based response decryption. The SDK covers wallet management, virtual account deposits, bank redemptions, and on-chain transfers. You can find it here: cNGN SDK Rust client for the cNGN API.
Previously, I also worked on the Plunk Rust SDK, a community SDK for Plunk.
Research interests:
- Distributed systems
- Electric vehicles (EVs) and autonomous vehicles
- Pets and animal behavior
- Brain-computer interfaces (BCIs)
- Cryptocurrencies
Open Source
I'm passionate about open source, building and contributing to software in the open. You can explore my work on GitHub: TheObiabo, if you like what i do, you can support me on Github https://github.com/sponsors/theobiabo
Life & Travel
I live life based on flow and go where it leads me. I enjoy exploring obscure places, experiencing cultural shocks, and meeting people from different countries and regions. Lately, I've had the chance to meet people of different ethnicities and languages, and it's made life feel very rich.
Let's Connect
I'm open to new roles and collaborations. If you'd like to connect or work together, feel free to reach out on X: @obiabo_immanuel.
